Railroad Ministry to Pay Passengers for Traffic Irregularities

Beginning with today, the Russian Railroad Ministry will pay compensations to passengers for irregularities in train traffic. As the press service of the Railroad Ministry reported to RBC, the system of compensations is based on a number of laws, including the law on consumer rights protection, and is first of all aimed at increasing the quality of servicing passengers.

The compensation will amount to 3 percent of a ticket price for every hour spent by a passenger waiting for a train; however, the compensation will not exceed the ticket price.

A passenger has the right to file a complaint within 45 days after the trip. Money would be reimbursed within 30 days after the complaint was filed, the press service of the Railroad Ministry pointed out.
