Hugo Chavez makes 9th visit to Russia

42016.jpegHugo Chavez is meeting with President Medvedev to discuss Venezuelan-Russian partnership up to 2014. It is the ninth visit to Russia by the South American country's leader.

Prior to the talks at the Kremlin, Chavez took part in a ceremony for the laying of the foundations of a monument to Venezuela's national hero Simon Bolivar, in southwest Moscow. There was a move away from the traditional presidential motorcade, as Chavez traveled through the capital in a Russian-made car, a red "Lada Priora", RT reports.

As is expected, the Moscow meetings will yield a plan of action which will be the basis for cooperation up to 2014.

The document lists specific cooperation guidelines in such spheres as foreign policy, financial sector, oil and gas industry, military-technical cooperation, nuclear power engineering, telecommunications, agriculture, fishing, transportation, education, health care, tourism, sport, culture, and elimination of natural calamities aftermath, Itar-Tass says.
