Wall collapses in Kenyan slum

A concrete wall collapsed Saturday night in a Kenyan slum during driving rain, killing eight people as they slept.

The wall fell ... apparently after heavy rain loosened the foundation, said Julius Muthuri, police chief for the area of the Kenyan capital that includes the Mukuru slum.

"A wall collapsed on houses in a slum area," he said. "We are removing the debris to see whether we can find other bodies."

The wall was serving as a barrier fence in the slum.
