Five from Florida unit killed in Nevada helicopter crash

All five members of U.S. Navy helicopter crew were killed in the crash during the training mission, the Navy said Tuesday.

The SH-60F helicopter crashed just before 9:30 p.m. Monday about 10 miles (16 kilometers) west of Austin, Nevada, said a statement from Fallon Naval Air Station in Nevada.

The craft and crew were from Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron Seven based in Jacksonville, Florida, part of a carrier air wing that deploys with the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier.

The squadron began a month of training at Fallon on April 30.

Names of the crew were not released, pending notification of family and the cause of the crash is under investigation, officials said.
