A rapper with the top-selling hip-hop group G-Unit pleaded not guilty in criminal court after being accused by authorities of slapping and punching a 14-year-old boy.

Tony Yayo, 28, whose real name is Marvin Bernard, was released Sunday on $5,000 bail after entering his plea during his arraignment in Manhattan.

Authorities have charged Bernard with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment. They say he pushed and slapped the boy, causing him pain in the ear and face.

"We adamantly deny the allegations set forth by the people today," said Yayo's defense attorney, Scott Leemon, after Yayo walked out of court, reports AP.

Besides Yayo, G-Unit includes rappers 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck.
