Pennsylvania man gets 35 to 70 years for raping adopted Russian daughter

A man already convicted in federal court of posting sexually explicit pictures of his adopted &to=http://english.pravda.ru/society/2002/08/15/34648.html' target=_blank>Russian daughter on the Internet was sentenced to up to 70 years in prison for raping the girl on state charges.

Matthew A. Mancuso will not begin serving the 35- to 70-year rape sentence until he completes the 15-year, eight-month federal sentence imposed last year for posting the pictures.

Allegheny County Judge Donna Jo McDaniel imposed the rape sentence Thursday, dubbing the case the "most heinous" she's seen in more than 20 years on the bench.

The 47-year-old Mancuso, who was convicted in August on 11 sex-abuse charges, including rape and incest, had adopted the girl from a Russian orphanage in 1998 when she was 5 and sexually abused her until she was taken from his home in a 2003 FBI raid.

The case made headlines in May when Canadian police asked the public for tips on the identity of a girl, now 12, appearing in 200 explicit photos. Investigators erased the girl's image from the photos, but posted the backgrounds and received tips that some photos were taken at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel room in Orlando, Florida.
