The attempt on former Chechen leader Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev in Qatar is most likely connected with financial arguments of Chechen militants, Secretary of the Chechen Security Council Rudnik Dudayev told RIA Novosti.
"They must be dividing money. As a political figure, Yandarbiyev is of no interest anywhere. However, once he pocketed a great sum of money meant for militants and further resistance," Dudayev said.
According to him, Udugov also claims this money. "There was a conflict between them because of this money," Dudayev said.
On Friday Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev's car was exploded in Doha, Qatar's capital. He was badly wounded and died in hospital.
