Major terrorist attack prevented in Chechnya
A major terrorist act has been prevented in Chechnya's Achkhoi Martan district, the republic's Interior Ministry reports.
"Yesterday, near checkpoint 192 in Lermontov-Yurt, OMON officers discovered a homemade explosive device consisting of a soldered metal pipe filled with three kg of TNT, and an electric detonator," an interior ministry representative said. He said the device was defused.
Investigation is underway.
