Russian fighter plane crashes due to engine failure

A Tu-160 Russian fighter plane has crashed due to engine failure. This was the initial conclusion of the investigative team now working at the scene of the catastrophe in the Saratov Region. A few minutes before the incident occurred the crew of the plane informed ground control that the relatively new engine had caught fire.

As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, rescue workers have already found two black boxes among the wreckage. The bodies of the four pilots onboard have also been found.
