A major terrorist act has been prevented in Ingushetia (a North Caucasian republic bordering on Chechnya), reported a spokesman for the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry.
"The explosive device, containing 25 kilograms of ammonite and equipped with an electric detonator, was found yesterday in the town of Malgobek seventy metres away from the hotel of the same name," said the press service spokesman.
The bomb was rendered harmless by specialists; a criminal case in this connection has been opened.
