Terrorist group raided in North Caucasus

Members of a terrorist group were detained in Ingushetia, a republic in the North Caucasus neighboring Chechnya, from June 12 to 19, 2003, Deputy Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev reported. According to him, the group is suspected of a number of terrorist acts committed in Chechnya, including the explosion of the Chechen government's building on December 27, 2002. Two members of the group, including its leader, were killed during the operation, 15 others were detained. The search revealed 120 kg of explosives, 150 electric detonators, weapons and ammunition as well as propagandist literature and videos.
