Raduyev's accomplice in Kizlyar raid has been arrested

Salman Raduyev's accomplice Muhammad Martazaliyev, also nicknamed Vakha, has been arrested nearly seven and a half years after the tragic events in the Daghestan city of Kizlyar.

Vakha, a federally and internationally wanted member of illegal armed formations, a so-called "emir of vakhabits" was detained last Thursday, the Daghestan Interior Ministry's press service reported. The operation to establish his location and arrest the criminal was conducted by the Daghestan Interior Ministry's Department on combating extremism and criminal terrorism.

On December 2001 during the trial with participation of Russian Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov the Daghestan Supreme Court pronounced a verdict for Raduyev and a group of his accomplices, who participated in the Kizlyar bloody raid. Raduyev, who was sentenced to a life imprisonment, later died in prison.
