Russia's Foreign Ministry Calls Israel & Palestine For Mutual Reserve

Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is calling Israel and Palestine to display the utmost reserve, says a statement ministerial PR are circulating.

Arab-Israeli settlement is going through an extremely sensitive stage after the four international Mideast mediators -Russia, the USA, the European Union and the United Nations - passed their road map to the involved Parties, April 30. It is essential for Israelis and Palestinians alike now to display the utmost reserve so as to channel whatever problems to the political field. The cause demands concerned efforts to put an end to terror and violence mainly through revived security teamwork of Israeli and Palestinian authorities, says the statement.

Terrorists go on sowing death and suffering in Israel, with a great number of civilian victims. Israel's right to combat terror is beyond doubt. Regrettably, however, Israeli action against criminals involves disproportionate use of force to bring considerable civilian victims and undermine the Palestinian infrastructure, points out the ministry.

An Israeli army invasion of the Gaza strip, May 1, killed eight Palestinians, a child among them, injured many, and left a number of residential buildings in ruins.
