Terrorist in Ingushetia Blew up Himself with Hand-made Explosive

In Ingushetia /a Russian republic in the North Caucasus/ a dangerous special offender showed armed resistance to the police and then blew up himself with a hand-made explosive. The incident happened on Thursday morning in Ingushetia's Sunzhensky district, in the village of Galashka, especially popular among Chechen bandits.

Officers from the criminal investigation department and police mobile unit tried to detain 36-year-old Hashiyev, wanted by the police for committing grave crimes such as kidnapping, illegal deprivation of liberty, illegal arms and ammunition stockpiling, attempt on a policeman's life.

According to a press service representative, "the bandit showed active resistance" and commenced a submachine gun fire at policemen and threw at them two grenades. When the criminal realised that resistance was useless, he committed a suicide by blowing up a hand-made bomb. None of the policemen suffered.
