Combat between British & Iraqi Forces in Western Part of Basra

Fierce combat between British and Iraqi forces broke out in Al-Baath, a district in the western part of Basra, Iraq, on Tuesday. Qatar's Al-Jazeera TV channel cited witnesses as saying the British had spotted pockets of fire in the area and bombarded them with heavy artillery, destroying several dwelling houses.
