Last night was one of the most disquieting nights for the citizens of Baghdad, Iraqi ambassador in Moscow Abbas Khalaf Kunfud told RIA Novosti.
"Last night was very disquieting; up to four o'clock in the morning the Americans delivered massive air-strikes at the civilian population," said the ambassador. According to him, "so far the Iraqi side does not have the data on how many people were wounded and how many killed." The Iraqi side reports that last night the greatest number of missiles since the beginning of the war were launched at Baghdad.
The Ambassador also said that fierce battles were going on in southern Iraq in which the American and British forces "are sustaining serious losses." "The Iraqi side has new prisoners-of-war," said Abbas Khalaf Kunfud. Apart from that, according to his data, during the battles last night the American troops sustained the greatest losses in the past few day.
According to the ambassador, the American side "had tried to close the information about the number of those killed and wounded till the Iraqis showed the video tape" from the battlefield.
