Arms, explosives and narcotic drugs confiscated in Chechnya during special operations

Over the past 24 hours, 9 units of firearms and over 10 kilos of explosives were confiscated in Chechnya during special operations.

The Russian Interior Ministry informed RIA Novosti Wednesday that five search and preventive operations were carried out in Grozny, as well as Vedeno, Kurchaloi, Nadterechny and Naursky districts of Chechnya.

Three grenade-launchers, a machine gun, four sporting rifles and a shotgun, 17 grenades, 162 rounds for grenade- launchers, 41 shells, two mines, over 4,500 bullets of various calibre, 10.2 kilos of explosives, and 446 grams of narcotic substances were confiscated.

Seven home-made explosive devices and 14 illegal mini oil refineries were destroyed.

As many as 28,794 people and 15,563 vehicles were checked, and 238 administrative violations exposed.

Over the past 24 hours, five firings of federal forces on part of militants were registered. Check-points in Grozny, Argun and Nozhai-Yurt were fired at. No casualties are reported.
