Chechen Separatists Pay Local Inhabitants For Laying Mines

Chechen separatists hire local inhabitants for laying mines and pay them about 200 US dollars for laying each explosive device. According to the data of the Russian military, such facts have been registered, for example, in the village of Bachi-Yurt, Kurchaloi District of the republic. As RIA Novosti was told in the headquarters of the Joint Group of the Federal Forces in Chechnya, in preparing terrorist acts, separatists first of all thoroughly examine the locality and only then begin to recruit "minemen" from among the local Chechen population. Of late, Chechen saboteurs have started paying special attention to the places of the deployment of the federal forces and the roads along which they move.
