Police Detain Terrorists In Chechnya

KHANKALA, May 1, 2001 /from RIA Novosti correspondent Sergey Bogdanov/ -- Bandits, involved in acts of terror, have been detained in Chechnya. As it was reported by the Anti-terrorist regional operative headquarters, a joint police detachment, while patrolling the settlement of Kizil-Yurt, detained a 27-year-old resident of Makhachkala Kolubin Abdulkadyrov, who was trying to get illegal access to the Cherkeisk hydro-electric power station. He was detained on suspicion of subversive activities. Law enforcement bodies also detained three Chechen citizens, who were photographing a military unit, deployed near Kizil-Yurt. A camera and glasses were confiscated. The documents, submitted by the detained, had clear signs of forgery.
