The Bodies Of 55 Submariners Recovered From Kursk Nuclear Submarine

As of Friday, 55 bodies of submariners have been recovered from the Kursk submarine, 45 of which have been identified, the Northern Fleet's press service disclosed. Northern Fleet aircraft have already transported 39 of the dead submariners from the Kursk, which sank in August 2000 in the Barents Sea, to their relatives. The press service also revealed that at the present moment, from both sides of the nuclear submarine, 16 of the 22 cruise missiles have been removed. However, they were unable to confirm reports, which were made in several papers, that the remaining 6 missiles will be cut out of the hull together with the silos for technical reasons.
