Ahmad Kadyrov, Head Of The Chechen Republic's Administration, Confirmed That The Number Of Militiamen In Chechnya Would Be Brought To 10,000 People

Ahmad Kadyrov, head of the Chechen Republic's administration, confirmed Monday that the number of militiamen in Chechnya would be brought to 10,000 people. Kadyrov pointed out that personnel for work in the militia would be selected more carefully, and a local resident would head the republic's interior ministry. "This is being done to get better results of his work, since a local will take the situation closer to heart," Kadyrov says. Last week, the Chechen leadership sent its proposal to Moscow to set up the republic's interior ministry. Earlier, Adlan Magomadov, the Chechen republic's representative under the Russian Federation's president, said at a press-conference in Moscow that they had reached an agreement with the federal centre that a Chechen would be appointed as chief of the Chechen Republic's interior ministry.
