Two Convoys Of 56 Cars With Humanitarian Cargoes Arrive In Afghanistan

On Thursday two convoys of 56 motor vehicles with humanitarian cargoes for the residents of northern Afghanistan passed through the Ishkashim check point controlled by the Ishkashim border unit from Tajikistan to Afghanistan. The convoys are carrying to Faisabad 240 tonnes of flour from the UN Food Programme, 113 tonnes of wheat from the UNO and 21 tonnes of diesel fuel, the press service of the Russian Frontier Service Group in Tajikistan reported. Since November 14, the launch of the operation, Russian border guards have let 15 convoys pass through the Ishkashim checkpoint on the Tajik-Afghan border. The convoys of 430 motor vehicles delivered 2,194 tonnes of flour, wheat and fuel.
