Taliban Claim They Downed US Military Aircraft Near Kandahar
Indian news reports, referring to a statement of mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef, a former Taliban ambassador to Pakistan, claim the Taliban downed a US combat plane near Kandahar Saturday. The aircraft was reportedly downed during the bombardment by American aviation of the Kandahar airport. The aircraft hit the ground approximately two kilometres off the airport and the Taliban know nothing about what happened to the pilot.
