An Army Kamaz Collides With A Passenger Train In Russian Far East

Two persons were injured as a KamAz lorry collided with a passenger train near Komsomolsk-on-Amur (a city in the lower reaches of the Amur river). As was reported by the press centre of the Far Eastern Railway, the lorry rammed the locomotive, broke its fuel tank and damaged the fire grate. The speed of the passenger train was 57 kilometres per hour, and only the timely and competent actions by the locomotive team saved the passengers' lives. The injured driver and passenger of the army lorry have been hospitalised in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Their lives are out of danger now. As was explained by the driver, he did not notice the banning sign on the railway crossing and collided with the train.
