Over 30% Of Counterfeited Banknotes Confiscated In Russia Were Made In Chechnya

More than 30 percent of the counterfeited money confiscated in Russia this year was made in Chechnya. Deputy chief of a department at the main administration for combating economic crime of the Interior Ministry of Russia, police colonel Sergei Skvortsov said this to journalists on Thursday. He explained that despite the fact that most of the false bank-notes, confiscated by the law-enforcers, are of "Chechen origin", their number "has considerably diminished" compared to last year. This is linked primarily with a number of special, operations to find and destroy underground presses, carried out by law-enforcers on the territory of the Chechen Republic.
