Sergei Yastrzhembsky: This Winter May Be Last For Chechen Militants

Sergei Yastrzhembsky, the Russian president's aide, thinks this year's winter may be the last for Chechen militants. "Their end is near," Yastrzhembsky said in a live interview with the Echo of Moscow radiostation. According to his words, militants are running out of food and ammunition. He also pointed out that regular special operations helped federal forces eliminate the key figures among Chechen militants, including the entire entourage of the Arab mercenary Khattab. It is also important that the international climate is becoming less favorable for terrorists, added Yastrzhembsky.
