Eighteen Rebels Arrested In Special Operation In Chechnya's Argun

Seven rebels have been killed and another 18 arrested in Argun by Interior Ministry forces during a special operation to liquidate a bandit group which operated in this Chechen town and its environs, the Russian Interior Ministry's temporary press centre in Khankala told RIA Novosti on Friday. Thirty-five people are being checked for membership of unlawful armed groups. The press centre said seven large arms caches had been found in Argun on Thursday, which contained one kilogram of RDX, seven assault rifles, two pistols, two grenade launchers, 12 grenades, 180 rounds for a grenade launcher, 18 mines, and over 5,000 cartridges.
