Pace Envoy To Examine Living Conditions Of Chechen Refugees In Ingushetia

On December 4, Lord Judd of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly arrives in the North Caucasian republic of Ingushetia to examine the living conditions of Chechen refugees. Lord Judd plans to visit a refugee camp in the Ingush town of Karabulak. This is Ingushetia's largest refugee camp, accommodating over 6,000 Chechen re-settlers. The program of Lord Judd's visit to Ingushetia will also include a meeting with the republican administration and consultations with representatives of international humanitarian organizations. Lord Judd will then leave Ingushetia for the Chechen village of Znamenskoye to meet with leaders of the OSCE mission to Chechnya and with the federal President's human rights envoy, Vladimir Kalamanov.
