Four Russian Policemen Wounded In Chechnya Over Past 24 Hours

Four Russian policemen have been wounded in Chechnya over the past 24 hours. The Staff of the Russian Joint Group of Forces (JGF) in Chechnya reported on Friday that an UAZ vehicle transporting officers of the Interior Department in Chechnya, came under grenade-launcher fire in the Staropromyslovsky district of Grozny. Three police officers were wounded and subsequently rushed to hospitals. In the Shelkovskoi district of Chechnya not far from the Chervlyonaya village, unidentified fighters opened fire against a stronghold of the Russian Interior Force. As a result of the attack, one Russian serviceman was wounded. Police officers also came under bandits' fire in the Argun town. The JGF Staff emphasised that during all aforementioned incidents militants had been suppressed by a return fire. JGF Staff officers added that federal troops have come under rebels' fire 11 times over the past 24 hours.
