Turkish Troops Haven't Yet Entered Northern Iraq

Turkish forces haven't yet entered northern Iraq, Abbas Halaf, who serves as Iraq's Ambassador in Moscow, told reporters here today.

In his words, Turkish forces are approaching the border without the US Administration's consent. Iraq expects serious differences to arise between the United States and Turkey on this issue. Moreover, the Kurds will resist fiercely, if Turkish units enter their territory, Halaf said in conclusion.
