Russian Border-Guards Confiscate on the Tajik-Afghan Border a Large Batch of Heroin

Russian border-guards have confiscated from armed drug couriers on the Tajik-Afghan border over 100kg of heroin.

On Saturday, border-guards spotted found five armed contrabandists who were crossing the border across river Pyanj from Afghanistan, the press-service of Russian border-guard troops in Tajikistan told RIA Novosti. During the attempt to detain them, fire was opened at the border-guards detachment. After the border-guards opened return fire, the drug couriers retired into Afghanistan.

During the examination of the site, the border-guards found three bags containing 100 packages of heroin with a total weight of 101 kg.
