40 bodies of terrorists, killed in the course of the elimination of a terrorist group, which invaded Russia from Georgia, has been discovered in the Sunzhensky district, Ingushetia. This was disclosed by the Department of President's plenipotentiary representative in the Southern Federal District.

According to the sources, at the present moment the bodies are being identified. Meanwhile, the losses among terrorists, including foreign mercenaries, amount at 100 killed, the headquarters of the 58th army disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent. According to the sources in the headquarters, many terrorists' bodies have been found, but have not been identified yet. At least 20 killed terrorists are still lying in the rough forest and mountain terrain, the secret intelligence service reported.

All in all, Abdul Malik's terrorist formation, which invaded Russia from Georgia, listed 150 terrorists. Scattered groups of terrorists are hiding in the Assinovskoye gorge. Over the last 24 hours the aviation has been bombing the gorge.

About 1,000 police and Interior Forces servicemen along with the Army are involved in the special operation on elimination of scattered terrorist groups from Abdul Malik's formation in the areas bordering on Chechnya, the Ingush Ministry of Interior Affairs disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent.

Yesterday police and military servicemen started the inspection of the Assinovskoye gorge and passport control of citizens from Dattykh, Arshty and Muzhichi villages. There had been no reports about armed clashes. Vehicle traffic is still limited at the Ingush-Chechen administrative border, the Ministry of the Interior Affairs reported.
