Russian jetliner breaks into two as it crashes into rocks in Egypt

Airbus A320 was of Russia's Kogalymavia Airlines was destroyed in the crash. The crash has left no survivors. There were only Russian tourists abroad. One of the victims is Deputy Mayor of the city of Pskov. 

Rescuers are searching through the wreckage of the plane. At least 100 bodies have been recovered. 

Most likely, the tragedy occurred as a result of the engine failure. The plane broke into two during the crash. Flight recorders of the crashed aircraft have been found. 

An Egyptian rescuer, who works on the crash site, said that he could probably hear the screams of survivors. The screams were coming from one of the sections of the fuselage of the plane. The rear, smaller part of the plane, has burnt, and the larger, front part of the aircraft, rammed into rocks. 

Airbus-320 of Russia's Kogalymavia airline went off radar screens 23 minutes after takeoff, Pravda.Ru reports with reference to RIA Novosti. The plane was flying from Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh resort to Saint Petersburg. There were 217 passengers on board, 17 of them children, plus seven crew members.
