Acid attack committed against Bolshoi Theater Ballet choreographer

Investigators opened a criminal case under article "Intentional infliction of injury" in connection with the attack on the artistic director of the Bolshoi Theater Ballet, Sergei Filin. Presumably, the attack is related to his professional activities.

The choreographer received regular threats before. Hooligans would often puncture the tires of his car. The trouble started soon after Filin got to this position at the theater.

On January 17, a masked man threw acid in the face of artistic director of the Bolshoi Theater Ballet, Sergei Filin.

The incident took place at night in the parking lot at Troitskaya Street, when the artist was returning from the evening dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Stanislavsky. The victim was rushed to hospital with burns to the face and eyes. His wife and mother stay with the artist at the hospital.

The artist's life is out of danger, but recovery will take time - most likely six months. The primary objective of doctors is to fully restore the man's eyesight.
