Skanska wins US$142.7 million contracts

Skanska, Swedish construction company, said Thursday it won contracts worth a total of US$142.7 million (EUR106.3 million).

The company won a 400 million Norwegian kroner (US$66.4 million; EUR49.4 million) contract to construct a combined office and housing project in Stavanger, Norway.

Separately, the company said it won a contract to build a propane production unit at Presidente Getulio Vargas Refinery in Brazil for Petrobras. The contract is worth US$109 million (EUR81.2 million), of which Skanska will earn US$76.3 million (EUR56.8 million).

The Stavanger project comprises a seven-story building for offices and housing. The total floor space, including levels below ground, is 36,500 square meters. The project is being started immediately, with completion scheduled for January 2010.
