The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Wednesday. Gold prices fell.

The euro traded at US$1.3188, down from US$1.3193 late Tuesday in New York.

1.1740 Canadian dollars, down from 1.1749

The British pound traded at US1.9239, down from US$1.9287.

Gold traded in London at US$640.80 per troy ounce, down from US$648.40 late Tuesday.

In Zurich, the bid price was US$637.80, down from US$646.85.

Gold closed down US$7 in Hong Kong at US$642.60, reports AP.

Silver traded in London at US$12.63 per troy ounce, down from US$12.85.
