"Great grand gestures-Yes. Grand posturing-No!" And "For the triumph of evil it is necessary that the concerned people do nothing"

Dear Editor Pravda: Thank you for raising the people of Kashmir view before your readers. Your editors, columnists, and analysts have raised serious and substantial question of holding free and fair election as is being advocated, promoted, and promised by dear Indian leadership and election commissioners.

The alienated, occupied, and oppressed people of Kashmir have again and again refused to take part in the farce, fake, and fictional elections. KAM predicts these will fail and fail miserably and bring the region once again closer to "DOOMS DAY SCENARIO" of continued death, destruction, and possibly foolish accidental nuclear confrontation.

India and Pakistan will have to come up with the series of serious, sustained, and substantial Great-Grand Gestures to address the Kashmir peoples basic desire to be free and exercise their choice of future without any fear or favor from any side. In the past all cosmetic approaches have failed and will fail again and again the result sad & unfortunate devastating armed confrontations. If the region and its leadership is looking forward for the permanent, positive and lasting solution. The current facade of Fair and free election should be simply dropped and replaced by series of Great-Grand Bilateral Gestures. The time for playing games of seduction, deception, confusion, brinkmanship, and posturing is over.

It is the time for the wise, virtuous, and visionary people and their leadership in the region to move forward with the courageous course of common sense, sincerity, honesty, and sound sacrifice for the sake of over One Billion people of the region. The current futile slogan of "Free & fair"election is no solution. When people are is alienated, occupied, and oppressed for a long time. when past pledges, promises, commitments at local, national, and International have not been kept in the past. It is our sincere and honest opinion that the people will not believe current promises either. The people of Kashmir have been suffering, struggling, and sacrificing for decades. I am a naturalized Kashmir born American citizen and have been working hard to address Kashmir peoples plight and aspiration. I have tasted and experienced freedom and occupation. I have hard time to buy this slogan of "Free & Fair" election to be conducted under military, paramilitary, and armed terrorist from either side.

Let me repeat Hon. Hurriyati Kashmir [Nelson Manuela of Kashmir] four sentences that is "Election is no solution." Again and again parties are seeking the sympathy of the United States and other countries for their stand on Kashmir by calling the occupation resistance movement in Kashmir a terrorist movement; Kashmir is an integral part of India, wind pipe of Pakistan, militant people of Kashmir are secessionist launched by so-called fundamentalist groups.

How well grounded these pleas are can be judged from the following facts and considerations: During the latest phase of the freedom struggle, virtually all the citizenly of vale of Kashmir including the capital city, Srinagar and other towns-men, women, and children-came out on the streets repeatedly to lodge a non-violent protest against continued occupation. The people of divided Kashmir wish to stress that their land is not real estate that should be parcelled out between two disputant-s but the home of a nation with a history for more compact and coherent than India's and far longer than Pakistan's. No settlement of their status will hold unless it is explicitly based on the principles of self-determination and erases the so-called line of control, which is in reality the line of conflict.

Citizens of Kashmir would like the future negotiations to be tripartite, because the dispute primarily involves three parties-India, Pakistan and the "Tormented People of Kashmir." But the primary and principal party is the people of Kashmir, and it is ultimately their future-the future of 13 million people of Kashmir-that is at stake. The people of Kashmir, and their Kashmiriyat will help the world powers to find the true, lasting, and permanent peace for the people of Indo-Kash-Pak region and rest of the world. The solution is tripartite dialogue with the help of impartial and committed world powers and leaders. Submitted sincerely for publications,
