London keeps world on a short leash

The British PM David Cameron called Nigeria and Afghanistan to be "fantastically corrupt countries".

Representatives of Nigeria and Afghanistan held it offensive. They believe they have done a lot to put an end to corruption in their countries. President of Nigeria said he wouldn't demand apologies and claimed that London would rather help to return what had been stolen by local officials.

Yuriy Solozobov, Director of international projects at the National Strategy Institute of Russia, commented Pravda.Ru on the issue.

"Money, which was moved out of the country, goes to the Western financial centres. The main financial centre is situated in London. The structure of financial market is quite simple. Up to half of GDP from corrupt and raw material producing countries goes to offshore companies on the British Virgin Islands and other former territories which were under control. Money is laundered in real financial structures, including those in London. Thus, London is not interested in corruption and offshore system liquidation and surely in return of this money," the political scientist noted in an interview with Pravda.Ru.

Offshore accounts of the Cameron's family have been recently revealed in Panama's archives. "It seems to me that hypocrisy is a hallmark of the British imperialism and British elite. They cannot succeed in life without it," the expert noted.

Solozobov pointed out that the West built up a system of making developing countries corrupt. And this system is quite simple. When a person is kept on a short leash, he is deliberately given money, hinting that he will have to return part of loans via either the IMF, or the World Bank, or any other structures. We have been there in the early 90s, and saw it in other developing countries.

What about the Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index, which is made up by the American nonprofit organizations, it is an absolutely value judgment. Countries which should be on the edge of a punch, are moved down with this index.

I don't believe that countries which are absolutely transparent, do not have their skeletons in the cupboard. Take for example Iceland or other respected states," Solozobov said.

He noted that "there is such a radical organization as Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is fighting for Islam with terror methods. It is banned in Russia, by the way. Where is its headquarters? In London. It is an organization which was created by the Western structures. As well as Wahhabism was created by the British special services. Thus, it is absurd to fight against weapon, which was created by themselves, from viewpoint of the British hypocrites".
