Moscow ranked third dollar billionaire city in the world

Moscow is the third city in the world, where the number of billionaire residents is the largest, Forbes magazine said.

According to the authoritative publication, the Russian capital is home to 60 billionaires, whose common fortune totals $270.6 billion.

New York City is ranked first on the list with 79 billionaires holding the total of $364.6 billion. Hong Kong comes second: 68 billionaires with $261.3 billion in total.

Not that long ago, a week of turbulence on global financial markets cost a lot to world's wealthiest people. Sixty-six people dropped out of billionaire lists as a result of the Black Monday of August 24 and the collapse of stock markets.

Russia lost five dollar billionaires as a result of the financial crisis. The losses were the largest for Chinese billionaires, the Arguments and Facts newspaper said.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffett still remain the world's richest men, despite the fact that their fortunes decreased by six and elven percent respectively in 2015. According to Hurun, Gates owns $80 billion and Buffett - $68 billion.

The number of dollar billionaires in Russia has dropped to 80 (66 of them live in Moscow), and their common fortune shrank by $130 billion to $234 billion.

Noteworthy, Moscow was awarded the title of the capital of billionaires in 2013, when the number of people holding the fortune larger than $1 billion amounted to 76. New York and Hong Kong followed with 70 and 54 billionaires respectively.
