Public sector employees to have their wages raised in Nizhny Novgorod region

On April 1, 2013 all state employees of the Nizhny Novgorod region will have their wages raised. Governor Valery Shantsev signed the corresponding decree "On measures to raise the wages of employees in state treasury, budget and autonomous agencies, and of employees of executive authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region."

According to the document, the salaries of teachers of institutions of additional education will be raised by 44.7 percent. Medical workers will receive the additional 15 percent.

The list continues with social employees of social protection institutions (their raise will make up 85.6 percent), employees of cultural institutions, with special education (+ 62.1 percent), the personnel of medical institutions (+10 percent).

It was said that previously, the pay raise date for the last three categories of the public sector was set on October 1, 2013, while the raise was supposed to make up only 15 percent.

On 1 October 2013, a 15-percent increase will touch upon specialists of veterinary surveillance. 

A number of categories of public employees of the Nizhny Novgorod region had their salaries raised in January of this year. Teachers of pre-school institutions were given a raise of 90 percent, while doctors and teachers - 30 percent.

In addition, from October 1, 2013, as previously planned, a 10-percent raise will be provided to teachers and trainers of primary and secondary vocational education, biologists and chemists of medical organizations. The salaries of all other categories of public sector employees will be raised by seven percent.
