Two Russian women slain in Thailand for no reason whatsoever

The police of Thailand continue to investigate the killing of two Russian women tourists. The two young women, Tatyana Tsimfer (30) and Lyubov Svirkova (25), were shot dead Saturday night in the Thai resort of Pattaya. Law-enforcement officers are searching for two suspects, one of them possibly a foreign citizen.

The tall man of large stature, who shot the tourists dead on the beach, is probably a foreigner, the Thai police believe. Investigators concluded so after they examined the video tapes filmed by surveillance cameras installed in the area of the crime scene. The murderer came running to the two women enjoying themselves on the beach, fired his gun at them several times and escaped.

The bodies of Tatiana Tsimfar, 30, and Liubov Svirkova, 25, were discovered at a beach in Pattaya, a few feet from the sea. Both had been shot dead. They had apparently been waiting to watch the sunrise. Next to them was a two-thirds empty bottle of whisky, a can of Coke, cigarettes, and a pair of transparent flip-flops. The women's mobile phones lay untouched on a table - apparently ruling out the possibility their murder had been a robbery.

Investigators say that the murderer supposedly had an accomplice, who arrived in Thailand on the same plane with the slain tourists. Police have offered a $3,000 reward for the capture of the gunman.

The two women arrived at Pattaya’s Jomthien resort in Thailand from the city of Kemerovo. They stayed at the Dragon Beach Hotel. They were gunned down on February 24. The women returned to their beach from Pattaya’s night clubs and restaurants and were relaxing in deck chairs when they were killed, police say.

One of the tourists reportedly left a note before her death. Friends of Lyubov Svirkova say that she had a left a short letter and hid it in her Russian passport. “Dear mother, I love you so much! If you are reading this letter now it means that I will not come back home,”the note said. The girl’s mother refused to confirm this information, though, the Komsomolskaya Pravda wrote.
