Fragile teenage girl kills her stepfather with heavy dumbbells

A teenage girl killed her stepfather with dumbbells as she was trying to save her mother’s life. The severe injuries on the body of the killed man confused investigators: the police officers could not believe that a small and fragile girl could actually cause them.

It became known later that the man was attempting to strangle his wife with a golden chain. He repeatedly harassed and abused his foster daughter too. The girl has not been called into criminal account for the murder due to her young age. The police said the tragic and horrifying event did not change her inner world, nor did it cause any damage to the girl's psyche: she is still a straight-A student at school.

The incident happened in the city of Ufa. Forensic experts concluded that the 44-year-old man died as a result of numerous injuries caused with a heavy object. The man’s wife and his stepdaughter were present at the scene of the crime, which immediately made the police believe that it was the woman who killed the man, but not the teenage girl. However, the 12-year-old girl affirmed that it was her who killed her stepfather when he was trying to kill her mother.

“It never occurred to anyone that such a small and fragile girl could commit the crime taking into consideration the fact that her mother originally pleaded guilty of the murder. Investigators determined later that it was the girl who killed her stepfather,” assistant prosecutor Anna Kardopoltseva said.

The man had a fight with his wife over alleged adultery. Being gripped with fury, the jealous man attacked his “unfaithful” wife, knocked her down and started kicking her brutally. Afterwards, the man tightened a golden chain on the woman’s neck which made the victim desperately gasp for breath.

The girl was witnessing the entire fight. She could not tolerate the tortures, grabbed a dumbbell and hit the man on his head and back several times.

Investigators subsequently determined that the deceased man was cheating on his wife on a regular basis, was unemployed and lived at his wife’s expense. To crown it all, the girl said that the man was sexually harassing her when mother was not at home.
