Warfare Suspended in South of Iraq, Iranian Radio Reports - 26 March, 2003

Warfare has been suspended in the south of Iraq, the Iranian radio reports. One of the main reasons for this is heavy sandstorms and rainfall.

According to the Iranian radio, the speed of wind is 75 km/h, maximum visibility does not exceed 100 metres, which hampers the flights of U.S. and Britain aircraft.

According to meteorologists, bad weather can last till tonight.

No movement of materiel is observed so far. Meanwhile the sound of artillery shelling is heard in Iran's western border areas.
