Iraqi Television Put out of Operation by Secret Experimental "Electronic" Bomb - 26 March, 2003

Iraqi television has been put out of operation by an experimental "electronic" bomb which is a device generating powerful electromagnetic impulses, the C.B.S. TV company has reported.

This secret weapon creates short-time microwave radiation which is powerful enough for putting computers, radars and radio stations out of operation and upsetting electricity supply and the ignition systems in automobiles and flying vehicles, the TV company points out.

C.B.S. notes that the US Department of Defense does not officially recognise the existence of this weapon. In particular, head of the Central Command (CENTCOM) of the U.S. Armed Forces General Tommy Franks said at a press conference held in the Pentagon at the beginning of March that he knew nothing of such a bomb.

But shortly before the beginning of the military operation in Iraq numerous reports in which variants and consequences of the use of this weapon were discussed appeared in American mass media.
