Man falls from 8th floor, lands on car, gets up and runs away

Drunken Russians continue to defy laws of physics and survive under most extreme and bizarre circumstances.

In the town of Kiselevsk, the Kemerovo region, a drunk young man, fell from the eighth floor of the apartment building and landed on a car parked near the building. Not only did he survive the fall, but remained virtually unharmed. To crown it all, eyewitnesses said that immediately after the fall, the man got up on the feet.

Later, the man was still taken to hospital, when paramedics arrived at the scene. Doctors estimated the patient's condition as stable.

Police officers said that in the apartment, from the windows of which the 23-year-old man fell out, was used as a place for a party. Shortly before the fall, the young man quarreled with his girlfriend. According to the man, it all happened by chance: while on the balcony, he just lost his balance and fell down, landing  on the Toyota car, parked near the apartment building.

"According to witnesses, immediately after the fall, the man jumped off from the roof of the car, on which he landed, and ran away," officials told Interfax. The car suffered the damaged to its roof, bumper, hood and light devices, police officers said.

Such incidents are not unusual for Russia. There were stories, when drunken people would survive falling from higher floors. In February 2012, a strongly drunk 50 -year-old Muscovite fell from the 11th floor of the apartment building and survived. He was hospitalized with blunt abdominal trauma.

On September 24, 2011, a 23 -year-old resident of Zelenograd fell from the window of the 10th floor. At hospital, doctors diagnosed him with a closed head injury, basal skull fracture and soft tissue wounds of the face.

It should be noted that it is children that typically survive similar incidents, as they are lighter than adults. In May 2011, in the city of Tobolsk, the Tyumen region, a six-year-old boy, who was left home alone, fell from the 9th floor and survived. The boy, however, suffered serious injuries. In July of the same year, in St. Petersburg, a child survived falling from the 11th floor.

As for other countries, in July 2011, in China, a young woman, while walking on a street, looked up and saw a baby falling down. She rushed to catch the child and thus saved the girl that fell from the window of the 10th floor.

On many occasions, those falling from high-rise buildings, were lucky to stay alive owing to parked cars. In October 2010, the Chinese city of Guiyang, a ten-year-old boy accidentally fell from a window of the 20th floor of a skyscraper. Owing to successful landing on the car, he did not get a single fracture.

Another amazing incident occurred in September 2010 in New York. 22-year-old Thomas Magill was going to commit suicide. He had left a note of his intention on his Facebook page. To end his life, young man jumped off from the 39th floor of a skyscraper. Having flown 122 meters down at a speed of about 200 km/h, Magill landed on a Dodge Charger vehicle that was parked by the road. Having crushed the roof and broken the rear window, he flew inside the vehicle and so survived.
