Teen girls torture small children in Russian orphanage

Two teenage girls, who beat and abused young boys in a boarding school in Russia's Amur region, were sent to a detention center. The director of the institution, where the scandal broke out, was temporarily dismissed from the position.

Two suspects were sent to a juvenile detention center for 30 days.

The scandal broke out several days ago, when the local press published a shocking video, in which a teen girl was whipping seven children, members of the youngest group of the orphanage. Amur region Governor Oleg Kozhemyako ordered to suspend the director of the boarding school and three teachers from duty for the time of the investigation.

A member of Boarding School No. 5 in the village of Pionersky, the Mazanovsky district of the Amur region, said on condition of anonymity that the school administration was aware of the systematic tortures of inmates, Amur-Info said.

Everyone heard the children screaming, and everyone understood that the children were being beaten, the employee (not a teacher) said. The employee has repeatedly discussed the problem with school teachers and the headmistress. The personnel of the school conducted conversations with the girls, but took no other measures to put an end to the tortures.

The shocking and highly disturbing video shows small children, wearing only underwear, lining up against the wall, waiting for their turn to be lashed. The teen girl in the video grabs the children one by one and lashes them on the buttocks with a belt. She then kicks one crying boy aside and turns to the next one in the line. The victims are under eight years of age.

It can be understood from the phrases that the assailant says that with such "preventive" beatings the teenage girls were sending smaller children to bed. "Go to bed!" she shouts while lashing the boys. The children cry hysterically and desperately attempt to cover up the buttocks with their hands. The girl orders them to remove the hands.

"Investigators attracted experienced psychologists to interrogate the suspects and victims," ​​officials told Interfax.

The beatings took place from February to May 2013, a spokesman for the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Amur region said.
