Who set up Tsarnaev brothers?

Investigation of the terrorist attack in Boston that took place on April 15th during the marathon continues in the United States. U.S. intelligence agencies still do not fully understand the motives of Tsarnaev brothers suspected of the two bombings that killed three people and injured 260. In addition, it remains unclear whether the terrorists had accomplices.

Did they belong to any international terrorist organizations or did they act independently? So far this complicated case has more questions than answers. On April 16th at least four versions of what has happened in the media appeared. The first version assumed that the attack was carried out by radical Islamists. Observers do not rule out the possibility that the Al-Qaeda group could be directly related to the attack.

According to the second version, the attack could be organized by members of anti-government extremist organizations. The third version suggested that structures close to the government could be behind the explosions in Boston. According to the fourth version, the attack was carried by a mentally ill loner.   On April 20th in Massachusetts police arrested 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a suspect in the bombings in Boston. A day earlier his brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed by police in a shootout. However, U.S. intelligence agencies faced a difficult job to investigate the terrorist attacks in Boston that reminded people of the United States of the tragic events of September 11, 2001 in New York and Washington.

A few days ago, the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security Michael McCaul suggested that Tsarnaev brothers had an instructor who helped them to make explosive devices. In this case, it is unclear whether this was an instructor in Chechnya or in the U.S., he said. Now the FBI is checking on the activities of several individuals from the inner circles of Tsarnaev brothers. Intelligence agencies suggested that the mother of the brothers Zubeidat Tsarnaeva may have prompted them to commit crimes.

Tsarnaeva denies links with extremists. "I'm tired of the absurd statements about me and my children. People know that I am an ordinary person, I never had any criminal intent, especially links with terrorism," she was quoted by "Voice of America".

At the same time, the Western media revealed some interesting details of the investigation that could shed light on the organization of the terrorist attack in Boston. It turns out that two years ago, the elder brother Tamerlan was questioned by the FBI, but nothing suspicious was found in his activity. In addition, a warning of his possible connection with radical Islamists was received from the FSB as reported by media referring to the sources in law enforcement agencies. It is assumed that Tamerlan, like his brother Dzhokhar, intended to get U.S. citizenship. Recently, the Russian special services delivered to their American counterparts phone records of Zubeidat Tsarnaeva where she spoke to her son and mentioned jihad. A number of publications mentioned the name of "Imam Misha," an American of Armenian descent who allegedly pushed Tamerlane toward Islamism.

However, no evidence of his involvement in the case of the terrorist attacks in Boston was found. Not everyone believes the official version of the U.S. authorities. President of the association of veterans of antiterrorist unit "Alfa" Alexei Filatov talked to Pravda.ru about the tragedy and who may be guilty of it.

"I judge Tsarnaev brothers based on what we know about their lives - where they lived, how they lived, what their aspirations were, what their family and friends, those with whom they studied, their teachers said about them. This act does not fit the picture. It is very hard, nearly impossible to explain why they did it. The guess of some experts, including those in the U.S., that it was a dormant unit of radical Muslims does not fit the picture. First, these people did not really live in the Caucasus. They come from Kyrgyzstan, spent a year in Makhachkala, and at an early age came to the U.S. No practical or physical contacts have been noticed. The fact that one brother went to Makhachkala, was allegedly in Chechnya ... It is unclear whether he was there doing construction work, or, like his father said, slept until 12pm, and then hung out with his friends ... I do not believe that at that time he was made a "dormant unit," summed up Alexei Filatov.

For nearly 12 years they have been no terrorist attacks in the U.S. Ordinary Americans began to wonder: "Why do soldiers die in Afghanistan, Iraq or anywhere else, if nothing happens, why not withdraw the troops?"

According to Filatov, it is quite possible that this way the authorities could "explain" this military presence. "They (Tsarnavev brothers - Ed.) have been involved in this situation, and we will not speak of their role. In this situation they are not accidental spectators of the marathon. Work was conducted with them, and I'm sure that the only motive was money. They were offered money for playing a role. Later, I believe, they were simply used and framed. The older brother who possessed the information was simply destroyed so no one could straighten things out," said Filatov.

"And now we have two radicals with unclear motives and unclear objectives. And now it will beautifully transform in a pretty wrapping for the American society. Politicians - the White House, Barack Obama, even Republicans, who are now in the opposition - will derive their political dividends," said Alexei Filatov.
