Plastic bottles and glasses program development of prostate and breast cancer with human embryos

This article may serve yet another proof to that fact that everything in the world has its downside. Plastic seems to be good from every point of view. It cannot be smashed into pieces like glass, it weighs a lot less and there is no need to wash it, for it is very cheap so one can simply throw plastic away. People make a wide variety of very useful things from plastic – from bags to furniture and even houses. Plastic kitchen ware is one of the most popular products, which many people use in their everyday lives.

It seems that many developed countries of the world, the United States first and foremost, have turned other materials down. Many common people drink coffee from plastic glasses or cups. They are probably led to believe that a different variant can only be accessible in an expensive restaurant. Even if you buy high-quality coffee, you will get it in a plastic vessel. Forks, spoons and plates are also made of plastic. There is no need to wash them or use a dish-washing machine – just take garbage out instead.

It turns out that the plastic way of life can be very dangerous healthwise to both humans and animals. Plastic bags make up to nine percent of garbage. It is practically impossible to get rid of polyethylene: it does not decompose under the ground and produces carbonic acid when burning.

Scientists say that molecules of plastic packaging, which a human being takes during eating or drinking, may produce a harmful effect on metabolism. Bisphenol A, or diphenylpropane, is especially active from the hormonal point of view. This chemical is a basic constituent of plastic used for the production of bottles for mineral water, other alcohol-free drinks and even baby food.

Experiments conducted on animals revealed that Bisphenol A suppresses the production of sperm with males and accelerates pubescence with females. Specialists analyzed the urine of about 2,500 healthy humans and discovered high concentrations of Bisphenol A with 92 percent test persons. The concentrations were much higher than those which cause ailments and pregnancy anomalies with lab animals.

A report from the National Toxicology Program says that Bisphenol A, which has been proved as harmful to animals even in small doses, can be found in almost every human being. Therefore, the chemical threatens human embryos, infants and teenagers. Some specialists assume that the chemical destroys hormones and affects genes at the very beginning of a human life, programming the development of breast or prostate cancer, sexual precocity with girls, attention disturbance and other reproductive and neurological disorders.

Specialists of the US National Toxicology Program conducted about 500 experiments on rats. The report said that Bisphenol A may cause behavioral and puberty age changes with embryos and babies of female sex, as well as affect the brain, the prostate gland and mammal glands.

Canadian scientists said that the plastic-containing chemical, which is used in the production of bottles, DVDs and CDs can hold hazard to health. Canada’s Health Minister Tony Clement said that the chemical most likely jeopardizes the health of children and newborns.
