From WMD in Iraq to nuclear program of Iran

The USA has no cause to go sticking its nose into affairs which are none of its business

The United States of America is applying political pressure to Iran without one iota of evidence that Iran has transgressed any rules. The most recent report from the International Atomic Energy Agency on Iran's nuclear programme has left out a section present in a previous report which criticised Teheran and refers to “the inalienable rights of all the Parties to the Treaty to develop research, production and use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes without discrimination.”Iran and IAEA

The report, Implementation of the NPT Safeguards Agreement in the Islamic Republic of Iran, issued on September 24th 2005, referred to findings made by the IAEA and reported in the documents GOV/2003/75 of 2003/11/10 and GOV/2005/67 of 2005.09.02 that Iran had concealed the reporting of nuclear processes and as such was in breach of its obligations.

For the United States of America, whose regime will doubtless seize on this paragraph, this is proof enough that Iran is producing nuclear weapons, just like Iraq was full of WMD which constituted an “immediate threat” to Washington and her allies. Next, documents will be produced linking Teheran to weapons programmes, like those documents linking Baghdad to Niamey (attempts to buy yellowcake uranium, which turned out to be forgeries).

The truth

However, the truth could not be further from Washington's claims, which are once again, and this comes as no surprise when dealing with the Bush regime, are barefaced lies, hype, miscalculation and hysteria. The same IAEA report goes on to claim in paragraph f) that in his most recent report, the Director General of IAEA “noted that good progress has been made in Iran's correction of the breaches.”

In Section Three, the report declares that there are still many areas to be solved but sets out an action plan, namely for Iran to implement transparency measures, re-establish full and sustained suspension of enrichment-related activity and to return to the negotiation process.

This is what Teheran is doing and since the rules have been laid out by the appropriate UN organism and since Teheran and this organism are in contact, the United States of America has no cause to go sticking its nose into affairs which are none of its business. The only country to have deployed nuclear weaponry - against civilians – is not Iran.
