President Bush keeps state secrets in a wastebasket

Many people are bending over backwards trying to get exact information about where and when they can find a president. Such information is of special interest for obsessed people and of course for terrorists. They try to hire someone from the president’s team. They seek access to secret information. However they don’t even have an idea where presidents can keep their secret data. President Bush for example keeps the information about his secret flights in a trash bin.

Randy Hopkins, a sanitation worker in Washington, was stunned to discover a stack of documents detailing the president's movements that had been thrown out with the rubbish. They disclosed precise details of the arrival and departure times of Air Force One for Mr Bush's trip to Florida this week, along with the order of the vehicles in his motorcade and a list of all the personnel accompanying him, including the military attache who carries the "nuclear football" allowing the president to launch a strike against an enemy, the Guardian reports.

It is reported that it's not the first time something like this has happened. Vice President Dick Cheney's security detail once left behind instructions for protecting him in a souvenir shop. President Bill Clinton's motorcade once took off leaving behind the military aide who carries the black bag with the nuclear codes — he had to walk back to the White House, cbsnews.com says.

The White House does issue the media an overview of the presidential schedule each day, but with instructions not to publish it in detail. Contacted by the television station, the Secret Service said only it was not their document, and that it was not classified, according to monstersandcritics.com.

A spokesman traveling with President Bush says officials are still trying to learn more about the papers. The White House confirms the 9 News story and says many White House offices have "burn bags" that are used to discard sensitive documents like the schedule. However, it appears this one ended up in the general trash, tampabays10.com says.
